Get outta bed and lets go R’Idaho! It is a big day of single track.  We head north the way we came in to turn up Grouse Creek road to Paradise ATV trail, then head to our long combination of single track and ATV mountain trails. First we head down the fun and fast combo of Little Deer and Porcupine Gulch single track trails.  Now we are in the groove so we take the road to jet over to the ever popular Presidents trail that ends with an easy ATV trail down into the Baumgartner campground riding mecca. It’s a good place to eat some trail snack, refresh your water supplies and probably meet other fun loving and helpful ORV campers. You can often even scrounge some gas here if you are nervous about your range.

After Baumgartner campground we start north in earnest on the intermediate+, 23 mile Shake Creek + Trail Creek + Yuba River single track trails. The Shake Creek trail has some fun, snaky power climbs that require you keep your speed up riding the sides of the gully to get to the top. Then it becomes Trail Creek trail where we turn onto the Yuba River trail for a slot car speed challenge trail. From here we follow dirt roads to make our way to the historic town of Atlanta, ID for the famous Beaver Lodge Burgers.

From Atlanta, you can cut back to where Yuba river trail came out to take the advanced special test Snowline single track trail over the mountain, but be warned that it will end tough if the rivers are running high. This river crossing is not recommended for a soloist. Some slower or desk jockey riders will have had enough already and can sleep at the Beaver Lodge cabins and enjoy their cabins, cafe and saloon for the night, then take the time to discover the museum grade features and hot springs that are shown in the GPS file. But there is no gas for us in Atlanta unless you pre-arranged it through Beaver Lodge (the post man delivers OHV gas to them on request).  So press on if you are riding in True Grit style, we have roughly a 3 hour ride left in the standard route on our way over Jackson Peak Lookout, unless you take the major Hungarian Ridge special test loop where we go over Sunset Mt Lookout. If you have the time in Lowman, Kirkham Hot Springs is a unique hot waterfall and hot tub area to enjoy.
